Preamble - note that this has not been updated in content since late 1997. I have removed many outdated links, leaving not too much. Things change quickly on the internet.
As an academic from a discipline area not usually associated with technical skill, I have had
some interesting experiences in trying to embrace computer technology within our undergraduate
courses and within our department more generally. As part of my learning experience, I have
served on the Technical Working Party steering committee since its inception and have recently
joined the HEPCIT steering committee. The following links may help others locate useful sources
of information.
Some notes of mine (ie mostly written for me, but might be useful for others)
- Computer manual for Psychology students at Monash, updated and maintained by Aaron Wigley and probably now defunct, since Aaron left Monash in 2000.
- Some vi commands for non-unix heads
Things about email (most have disappeared or become outdated
